HIGHLIGHTS

1. e-Learning CROP Circles
2. Allison and George suggest RLO articles

3. On a personal note...

Do you have an e-learning CrOp Circle?

No, I haven’t seen the Hollywood movie “Signs.” I’m not talking about alien-created patterns in fields of wheat. What I mean is a circle of professional e-learning developers who are dedicated to responding to crises and opportunities (i.e., CrOps).

For many, e-learning evokes thoughts of big static course catalogs, IT training and long, multi-lesson modules. However, the innovators in our field are finding better ways to provide organizational value in the form of rapidly deployed, quick learning objects.

Allison Rossett and George Siemens suggest RLO articles

Last week I provided my top 10 list of articles on reusable learning objects and the SCORM specification. San Diego State professor Allison Rossett wrote in suggesting another article she wrote with Richard Clark.

In George Siemen's blog he properly takes me to task for not including Stephen Downes' work simply titled "Learning Objects."

If anyone can suggest one more we'll have a baker's dozen...

On a personal note...

I received a lot of e-mail in response to my daughter's nocturnal question. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to respond to it all. Traveled to Cleveland, Ohio last week and Lincoln, Nebraska this week (actually finishing this up in the St. Louis airport). But if you sent me a note, sit tight, I will respond.

Also, quick thanks to those who have sent in e-mails regarding typos and broken links on the www.e-LearningGuru.com site. As a one-man effort I can use all the quality control I can get!

Here's to living and learning (in St. Louis),
