$102 Billion Spent on Learning Market; About $10 billion on corporate e-learning

Eduventures has released their seventh annual report on the education industry. Despite the doom and gloom attitudes of late, there are billions of dollars being spent in this market. Highlights include:

- Overall learning marketplace valued at $102 billion in 2001 (annual growth of 2.6%)

- pre-K-12 market is estimated to be $58 billion in revenues, mostly from preschools; postsecondary market is $16.5 billion and is fastest growing segment

- Corporate market is $27.4 billion in revenue with 60% still instructor led; this market declined by 4% in 2001, declined by 2.5% in 2002, and is predicted to return to growth in 2003. E-learning subset will continue with double digit growth.
