"My e-mail box is slammed daily with junk that has no relevance or use, which requires me to spend valuable minutes hitting the delete key. :) Your newsletter is one of the few that I look forward to receiving. You are insightful and funny while still providing great information that I can use as I grow my training organization."

Google as a form of e-learning?!
So is looking up an answer on Google a form of e-learning or not? Many brains bigger than mine weigh in on this at the Learning Circuits blog. If you want to jump into the debate, scroll down to the blog entry title "elearning, by any other name" at:

$99 e-Learning Course Development Kit

Leo Lucas is a 20 year e-learning veteran with stints at Aimtech and Click2learn. He's just released the "e-Learning Course Development Kit" for those who already have Dreamweaver or Frontpage but really want a low-cost authoring tool. The toolkit comes complete with templates for course framework, navigation, storyboarding, and SCORM APIs.

The best part is that it only costs $99 USD. Check it out at:

The Art of the Quick Reference

OK, so what do quick reference cards have to do with e-learning? Well here's how I see it...

If we're doing our jobs right we are focused on creating lasting behavior change in our learners. And one time training events just don't do the trick. Maybe some short-term retention but very difficult to get employees to apply the new knowledge and skills back on the job.

Quick reference items (cards, booklets, posters, etc.) are a great and economical way to reinforce key concepts over time.

Amy Corrigan and Eve Drinis, of Technology Solutions Company, cover all the ins and outs in their article:

E-Learning Gains Momentum

According to eMarketer's new report, corporate e-learning revenues are coming in around $6 to $7 billion USD.

Interesting comparison table showing estimates by Cortona, Gartner, and IDC. Read full article at:

Do you have friends who'd be interested in a $99 toolkit or the size of the e-learning market? Please send them this e-mail and help build our community.

Here's to living, learning and gaining momentum,
