Busy week on the road, but a new LMS report and white paper for your pleasure. Coming soon are some great and original resources for marketing e-learning.

META Group LMS Comparison Report

Meta Group just released their eleven page analysis of Learning Management Systems. Not everyone will agree with their conclusions or methodology (based on performance and presence) but I found their analysis thorough and compelling. Get this report if you are evaluating LMS's, or are offering one.

Meta Group key points:
* Leading systems: Docent, Saba, Click2Learn, Plateau & Intellinex
* Three companies added to analysis: mGen, Oracle and TEDS
* Three companies dropped from analysis:
Learnframe, SmartForce, and IBM/Lotus LearningSpace
* LMS market is currently $500 million annually, with 10-15% growth rate.

White Paper: Blended Learning for Tech Training

This just released from Radiant Systems. Makes a solid business case for blended learning for technology training. Good discussion of creating a "learning blueprint", creating a roll-out strategy for different learners, a financial analysis, and a list of seven critical success factors. PDF.
Training: A Critical Success Factor in Implementing a Technology Solution

Do you know anyone who's interested in or evaluating an LMS or in blended learning? If so, please forward this e-mail to them and help build the Guru community.

Here's to living and learning,

-- Kevin
