Introducing
LearningBuddy - Your Personal Learning Appliance...
In my
July column of Chief Learning Officer magazine I think about
the potential of a Leapster-like device for adults...
So

had a personal, learning appliance. It would be an adult
Leapster-like devicelets call it LearningBuddy.

LeapPads to Aid Afghan Women
I must
admit I was a bit sheepish about my above column and thinking
my dreams were getting ahead of me. And then two months
later it is announced that LeapFrog and US Gov developed
a special version of the LeapPad for Afghan women!
"We
are excited to work with HHS to bring our LeapPad technology
to a whole new audience," LeapFrog CEO Tom Kalinske
said... The book presents more than 350 items of recorded
information concerning 19 personal health subjects. Basic
health information covered includes diet, childhood immunization,
pregnancy, breastfeeding, sanitation and water boiling,
treating injuries and burns, and preventing disease. The
books convey everyday household situations, as well as information
specific to child and reproductive health.

e-Learning
at Amazon.com?
New "Play and Learn" Feature
As I
was buying a new Sonicare Elite electric toothbrush yesterday
I stumbled on a mini e-learning feature on Amazon.com. Fairly
simple but probably sign of things to come. I couldn't really
find other examples of this at Amazon but I'm sure they're
out there.

Flash "Commercials" that Promote e-Learning
Last
month I asked you to send over any Flash-based teasers,
or commercials designed to promote your e-learning initiative.
I received about a dozen examples thus far, but want more.
If you've seen something good out there ask the producer
to send it my way. E-mail me the file or link at kkruse@e-learningguru.com.
Whitepaper:
Governing the Learning Organization
From
my friend Grant Ricketts at Saba...
Improving
productivity and operational performance across the organization
requires managing such elements at a higher level, that
is, creating the mechanisms and protocols for systematic
planning and decision-making about learning on an enterprise-wide
basis. It's called the "governance challenge.
