See you at TechLearn next week...

My schedule has kept me from attending many conferences this year so I'm really looking forward to going to TechLearn next week. Should be interesting on many levels. First time TechLearn isn't in Orlando -- will the new locale bring more visitors, or will New York City in cold November keep people away? Elliott Masie will make an appearance, but the industry is already abuzz in anticipation of the new conferences he's going to announce after the show.

Clark Aldrich's Six Criteria of an Educational Simulation

Simulations continue to be hot, hot, hot. But one person's simulation is another's "game" or "decision matrix." We need more commonality in our language so we know what kind of simulation animal we're dealing with.

Clark Aldrich is the best model builder I've ever met and I love his books and articles. You can read his newest piece that offers up a model of criteria for simulations including three criteria for content and three for delivery.

These things I know to be true...

The current issue of CLO magazine has a column summarizing my main themes from the last two years... business results... digital technology innovation... workflow... evidence-based training... unabashed e-learning optimism.

US Navy's Human Performance Center Portal

Barbara Tarker sent me a great note highlight the Navy's amazing portal with over 6,000 hotlinks to various resources. The military has often led the way and this site gives all of us a free look at many of their guidelines and templates. Want to see the guidelines for developing submarine training? Want to see the Navy's collection of best practices and lessons learned?
