Cisco's
Tom Kelly and Nader Nanjiani Interviewed by Karl Kapp
Dr.
Karl Kapp has joined on as an E-LearningGuru.com
contributor and arrives with a fantastic interview with
Cisco's Tom Kelly and Nader Nanjiani. Karl of course asks
them many questions about their new book, The Business
Case for E-Learning, but also hits them with topics
I'm sure no other publication has covered before. Tom and
Nader are leaders at what is one of the real-world's largest
e-learning labs (i.e., Cisco) and it's fascinating to see
their answers to questions like...
- What
did Tom and Nader think of John Chambers' infamous quote
that "e-learning is the killer app of the Internet"?
- What
is Cisco doing with IM, MP3, and SCORM?
- If
they had to leave Cisco and start a new company, what
kind of company would it be and why?
- Where's
e-learning going over the next 5 to 10 years?

Cool
Flash Intro and Good Free Courses
NewsU.org -- E-Learning
Portal for Journalists
My friend
and colleague Jen pointed out this cool
Flash-based teaser for the new e-learning portal for
journalists called NewsU.
They never submitted it to the Guru
Showcase for Interest Builders but it definitely would
have ranked at the top.
Although
NewsU.org is designed for professional journalists, I think
many e-learning designers will find the free courses of
value. They include courses on interview techniques, clear
writing, color and design, use of photography, etc. Click
here to visit NewsU.
Online
Game Teaches Teens to Live Independently
My friend
Clark Quinn sent me this link to an online game that many
parents would die for! It's an interactive simulation that
enables kids to spend money, get a job -- or suffer the
consequences of spending all their money without getting
a job! The technology and graphics are basic but the simulation
is sound -- would love to see someone crank this up with
the latest media.

Hey,
who wouldn't like to look at a free book summary or a cool
Flash piece -- won't you forward this e-mail to friends
and enemies alike?

to the pursuit of the killer app,
