Guru Interview with John Beck (co-author Got Game)
Karl Kapp interviews John Beck for Guru and asks about his survey of 2,500 professionals that revealed distinct differences between gamers and boomers:

"...we saw weird results, like gamers care more about their companies. Gamers end up being more sociable and work better in teams; they have a better natural sense of how to make leadership decisions."

Millennial & Boomer Debate - Guru Readers
In the last issue one reader suggested that the focus on the Gamer generation and worries about the Boomers was a bunch of bull. Many of you wrote in to agree and disagree...

"Adam Bauser is right! People in the education and training field are more susceptible to nonsense and fads than a giddy teenager with a movie star magazine."

"Saying that someone is a Gamer, Digital Native, or whatever is not a negative or positive statement... To assume that there is only one learning style – now that’s crap."

"Amen Brother! What I love is that in no time in history have we had a greater percentage of college educated people with that trend only increasing..."

"What we haven't forgotten is how to recognize and respect the generation that preceded us, fought for us and handed us the highest standard of living on the planet. And we've apparently forgotten to pass along a little value called 'respect for elders' as well."

On a completely personal and political note...
Warning! This entry is personal and political. If you don't know me well please stop reading before you get all mad that I'm using this e-zine for something not related to e-learning.

Still reading, huh? OK, just wanted to share with those who are interested that my friend Patrick Murphy just got back from Iraq and he's running for US Congress in my district (Bucks County, PA). A Bronze Star veteran of Iraq and Bosnia, a former US Prosecutor, and hopefully my next Congressman. If you want to check him out or even make a donation (any amount is appreciated!) go to www.murphy06.com. If you decide to contribute make sure to drop me a note and let me know.
